Using the Package Updater - Gnome
If you are using Newt OS Gnome, then you have access to Gnome's Package Updater. This piece of software functions similarly to how Ubuntu handles updates, displaying a list of available updates, with the option to install all, selected, or none. It can be found by searching for it in the Activities overview. To install updates using this software, simply launch it like any other app, and follow the onscreen instructions.

Using the Command Line/Terminal - Gnome, LXDE, and KDE
For those of you comfortable using the command line, you can update software by running the commands below.
To view available updates:
zypper list-updates
To install available udates
zypper update
Because of the way openSUSE handles packages, some software also receives "patches" in addition to full updates. These patches can be viewed and installed using the following commands:
To view available patches:
zypper list-patches
To install available patches:
zypper patch
